Service Delivery and Process Automation

The ability to quickly deliver a new service, knowing before hand what impact this new service will have on the infrastructure while managing operational costs, is undoubtedly a priority for many organizations. The key is to define a service management strategy that effectively addresses risk, cost, revenue, quality, and compliance requirements. This track focuses on how you can leverage a combination of operations management products, processes, and best practices to more effectively deliver on new business goals. It will provide insight into the benefits and value of implementing Asset Management, License Management, Change and Configuration Management, Financial Management, Service Request Management, and the best practices for aligning these operations with business goals. Key focus will be on integration between all of these functions so that the tools will provide common visualization and navigation, providing integrated workflows and reporting across the products, including security, storage, availability, performance management, and automation. Some products within this track include IBM Tivoli Asset Management for IT, IBM Tivoli Licence Compliance Manager for z/OS, IBM Tivoli Licence Compliance Manager, IBM Tivoli Change and Configuration Management Database (CCMDB), IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager, IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager, the IBM Tivoli process managers, IBM Tivoli Service Desk, and IBM Tivoli Unified Process, and IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager.

Security, Risk Management and Compliance

IBM sees information technology security changing as more collaborative business models, sophisticated criminal attacks, and increasingly complex infrastructures emerge. As a result, today's wide array of security technologies, implemented tactically in silos, are not sufficient to deal with the new reality of risk. IBM's approach is to strategically manage risk end-to end across all domains of information technology security—Identity, Information, Applications, Network, Server & Endpoint and the physical infrastructure. This track will highlight effective use of solutions in managing today's security risk as well as in supporting compliance requirements, such as the Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II. It will also offer insight into how the rest of the IBM portfolio can help you address your compliance control objectives. Some products within this track include IBM Tivoli Compliance Insight Manager, IBM Tivoli Security Operations Manager, IBM Federated Identity Manager, IBM Tivoli Identity Manager, IBM Tivoli Access Manager, IBM Tivoli zSecure suite and our expanding security and compliance management products.

Storage Management

Managing storage infrastructures can be increasingly complex and costly driven by the variety of information (nearly everything can now be digitized and stored, from traditional files and databases to video, audio, e-mail, instant messages, patient records, web content etc. And with variety comes unique requirements), the volume of data (exponential growth in stored data is resulting in similar growth in storage infrastructures) and the velocity of change (85% of outages are caused by change—and change is happening more frequently than ever). This track discusses storage management solutions that help to simplify, automate and integrate your storage infrastructure. We will also discuss how storage management is leveraging the Tivoli Architecture to enable integrated navigation, workflows, reporting, monitoring and security across the broader IT environment.
