Red Hat / Suse Linux Support Red Hat Linux support offers a completely new and powerful way for Linux environments to leverage the scalability, performance, and throughput of SANs—with Tivoli SANergy. A whole new realm of leveraging open-source products for enterprise business applications is opened.
| UNIX MDCs (Solaris and AIX) now work for all SANergy hosts-Windows®, AIX®, Solaris, Linux, SGI, and HP UX. |
| Enhancements have been added that greatly improves SAN performance for small file environments such as Web hosting. Read performance on SANergy hosts is now improved by reducing the number of meta data requests between the SANergy host and the MDC. In Tivoli SANergy Version 3.3, these improvements are available for Solaris SANergy hosts while using Solaris SANergy MDCs and for AIX SANergy hosts while using AIX SANergy MDCs. |
Ready for Tivoli APIs With the release of SANergy 3.3, a new set of Application Program Interfaces (API's) allows third-party file system and NAS or any other OS vendors to have SANergy work with their products. SANergy integration instantly allows homogeneous file systems to be heterogeneous. SANergy integration allows LAN-capable OSs to instantly be SAN-capable. These APIs are available through the Ready for Tivoli program. |
