Web services can also be used as a basis for integrating management tools.

A number of solutions within the Tivoli product line have Web Services interfaces that fall into this category, including:

• The CandleNet Portal component of IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE Management Portal has a Web Services interface for accessing systems management data.
• IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager (ITPM) provides Web Services (SOAP) interfaces to functions such as running workflows, operating modes, provisioning data center assets and more. This allows ITPM to participate in a Service Oriented Architecture, exposing functionality as SOAP interfaces.
