This course provides an overview orientation of IBM Maximo architecture and functionality for IT Asset and Service Management (ITSM). Maximo is a comprehensive suite that goes well beyond Service Management, and although parts of it can be applied selectively, it is imperative to understand its overall structure. Anyone selling—or implementing—Maximo solutions needs to understand its breadth, and should take this course.
Full proficiency on Maximo cannot be acquired in one week, so the intent of this course is to supply students with a basic understanding of Maximo’s out-of-the-box functionality (which will help avoid unnecessary custom code creation) and to provide hands-on exposure to its major components. The course consists of lecture, demonstration and introductory exercises, covering a wide variety of applications, processes, and interrelationships within Maximo. Participants will emerge better able to engage at Maximo implementations, and with an understanding of what additional training they will need.
This course is a precursor to other more in-depth Maximo courses. Students looking for more detailed training on specific aspects of Maximo should consult the Student Guide. |
