This is a “consultant to consultant” workshop, intended for consultants that will be working on multiple implementations of IBM Tivoli Identity Manager. This is a fast paced, intense workshop that will take you beyond the initial implementation of the IBM Tivoli Identity Manager system and provide you with the basic skills required to implement several popular functions within the system.
This is one of several workshops designed exclusively for consultants and support engineers. This workshop deals with modifications to the operational workflow to extend the capability of the system to include account recertification. The workshop also covers how to set up a simple self care application.
Objectives
This course enables you to build the necessary knowledge and skills to:
Modify the operational workflow to allow for account recertification.
Install an application to accept self-service functionality for IBM Tivoli Identity Manager.
Course outline
Introduction
This unit is intended to provide an introduction to our fictitious client that uses IBM Tivoli Identity Manager. They have requested several modifications to the system and it is the student’s job to complete these modifications.
Self Care
This unit is designed to teach you how to configure ITIM to support a Self Care application. You will configure services within ITIM and install a pre-written Self Care application on the WebSphere server. When you complete this unit you should have a functioning Self Care application.
Recertification
In this unit. you will modify the operational workflow to handle re-certification of accounts. When you have completed this unit, you will have an operational re-certification process.
Mastery
This unit will test your skills and provide you with a scenario that you must implement in order to complete the workshop.
Who will benefit from this course
This is a highly technical workshop for field consultants or support engineers responsible for implementing or supporting customized implementations of IBM Tivoli Identity Manager version 4.6.
Required skills/knowledge
The following skills are expected:
Students should have a solid working knowledge of the IBM Tivoli Identity Manager system. They should be familiar with, and able to create workflows, provisioning policies and set up services.
Students should have completed the IBM Tivoli Identity Manager Basic Implementation Workshop AND have a fair amount of HANDS ON experience with the product.
