Course description

IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM) is a vital component of an Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) implementation. TADDM provides complete visibility into application complexity by automatically creating and maintaining application infrastructure maps through an agent-free discovery process. The resulting maps include complete run-time dependencies and change history.

This training class provides the information necessary to successfully implement TADDM 5.1.1 in a customer environment. Hands-on exercises will provide participants the opportunity to install, configure and customize a typical TADDM deployment. An overview of the discovery process, including new functionality introduced in recent fixpacks, will be provided. Participants will learn troubleshooting steps and techniques as well as methods for improving performance of the TADDM discoveries. Integration with other products will be introduced through an overview of discovery library adapters (DLAs) and tools for creating integration files.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM) features.
  • Install and configure TADDM.
