Course description

Consultant Training in IBM Maximo 6 for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) teaches Maximo consultants how to install, configure, and customize Maximo 6 for EAM. Configuration includes tables, objects, attributes, domains, and relationships. Customization includes the use of an Application Designer, which makes it easy to extend and tailor Maximo 6. After completing this course, you should have a basic understanding of how to extend Maximo 6 (for EAM) to fulfill your implementation requirements.

Objectives

After completing this course, students should be able to:

Create and update IBM Maximo financial configuration
Create Maximo Security Users and Groups
Describe and configure multisite/multiorganization architecture
Describe the Maximo installation in a distributed and stand-alone environment
Install IBM Maximo
Discuss the Maximo file structure
Use the Administrative applications to set up data
Describe the new Workflow
Describe the Maximo database, ERD, and how data is loaded
Use the Database Configuration application to perform table creation, drops, and changes, and to create relationships and domains
Use the Application Designer to create, copy, and customize Maximo applications
Describe the database architecture
Create a custom application

Who will benefit from this course

The goal of this course is to provide competency in tailoring Maximo 6 (for EAM).

Required skills/knowledge

Fundamental database design and administration, including writing and debugging SQL queries
Knowledge of basic programming fundamentals
Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, Java, J2EE, Web Services, and Java Server Pages (JSP)
Students unfamiliar with IBM Maximo should attend the IBM Maximo Core Consultant for Enterprise Asset Management: Week 1 course prior to this training.
Certification in IBM MAXIMO 5 and have taken the New Features in IBM Maximo 6 (for EAM) course or
Experience with complex systems deployment and have taken the Immersion Training in IBM Maximo 6 (for EAM) course.
Demonstrated ability to navigate and operate IBM Maximo 6, which can be obtained from the Navigation & Querying in IBM Maximo 6 course.
