The purpose of this 2 day hands on, instructor-led training is to show and explain how the features and functions of IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager can be used to administer and manage an organization’s storage resources and help meet its Storage Resource Management needs. Through lecture and hands-on exercises, the participants will install and configure the Storage Resource Manager server and agent, navigate through IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager's interface, and monitor, evaluate, and report on the managed storage resources. The skills learned in this course apply to all IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager agent and server platforms. |

- Install and Configure ITSRM in any supported environment.
- Define quotas to set limits on the amount of storage that a user or group can consume.
- Configure ITSRM to alert you to storage usage violations via email, event logs, or other alerting mechanisms
- Use ITSRM to identify trends in your storage usage.
- Create profiles to find where you have wasted space in your storage environment.
- Find ways to consolidate storage by locating duplicate, orphan, or obsolete files.
- Automate functions within IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager using scripts and schedules.
- Use ITSRM for Chargeback to create centers to allow you to charge individuals or departments for their storage usage.
- Monitor and report on the storage usage and growth trends of your database.
