This unit describes the structure of the organization tree and its components, such as organizational units, locations, business partner organizations, and admin domains. It also covers the creation of static and dynamic organizational roles. You will have the opportunity to add various units to the organization as well as add organizational roles.

Creating Services

This unit explains how to create services in IBM Tivoli Identity Manager. Once services are created, IBM Tivoli Identity Manager can be used to provision accounts for users. You will have the opportunity to create a service that will be used later to provision user accounts.

This unit also explains how to install an IBM Tivoli Identity Manager Agent. You will get the opportunity to create the agent administration account, install the agent software, and start the agent.

This unit describes how provisioning policies authorize users to have access to the various resources of the organization. It will discuss the components of a provisioning policy, such as membership, entitlements, provisioning parameter lists, and join directives. You will have the opportunity to create a provisioning policy as well as set join directives.

This unit defines reconciliation, explains the different types of reconciliation as well as how to create and run a reconciliation. Once a reconciliation has run, the results can be reviewed to determine if all accounts are authorized. This unit describes how to use workflows for approving requests. It also discusses different types of workflows that can be used for different activities, such as gathering additional information before a request is processed. Lifecycle management is also discussed. You will get the opportunity to create various types of workflows and use them to approve requests.

This unit describes how to configure all the electronic forms used in IBM Tivoli Identity Manager by adding and removing attributes as well as changing the way an attribute value is captured. In addition to configuring forms, the process for changing mapped and search attributes will also be discussed. You will get the opportunity to configure a form as well as change mapped and search attributes for an entity.

This is a highly technical workshop for field consultants or support engineers responsible for implementing or supporting customized implementations of IBM Tivoli Identity Manager version 4.6.

The following skills are expected:

Students should understand schemas for LDAP servers. Students should be able to query, insert, modify, and delete data in LDAP servers.

Students should have a basic understanding of web services and how to top and start and application server.

Students should be able to read and understand basic javascript.

Students are required to use Linux workstations, and should be familiar with the commands and tools used to navigate the system.
