This task-oriented course will prepare you to implement the IBM Tivoli License Compliance Manager for z/OS (Tivoli License Compliance Manager) Version 4 Release 2. You will be given a high-level overview of the software asset management (SAM) discipline and how the Tivoli License Compliance Manager is used as part of the SAM strategy of your enterprise. You will learn the basic foundational skills including how to tailor and run the components. You also learn about the data aggregation server, and the new Tivoli Asset Compliance Center that replaces the Spotlight+ graphical user interface (GUI). Lessons cover the product components that monitor software use activity, survey software inventory data, extract SMP/E data, identify your software inventory, produce reports, export data files, and distill software use activity and software inventory data. Lessons also cover planning for, installing and importing distilled data into data aggregation server and navigating in the Tivoli Asset Gateway. The course is composed of lectures on the Tivoli License Compliance Manager, the data aggregation server, Tivoli Asset Compliance Center, and the lecture material is reinforced by lab exercises in the Tivoli License Compliance Manager, the data aggregation server, and Tivoli Asset Compliance Center.
