The IBM Tivoli Netcool/Reporter 2.0 Installation and Administration course provides students with the ability to install, configure and operate the Netcool/Reporter product. This will include understanding the hardware and software requirements, configuring the operating system, configuring the database, installing and configuring the High Performance Oracle Gateway in Reporter mode, installing the Netcool/Reporter Server, JRun, Apache, and command line interaction with the various software components.
Students will learn how to administer Users and Groups, Data Sources, the Reporter Server and User Pages.
The course has many practical sessions, each student performing installation and configuration activities on a dedicated Solaris workstation. For much of the webbased configuration work, the student must bring a pc/laptop running Internet Explorer version 5+.
Upon completion of the training, each student will be able to deploy and integrate Netcool/Reporter version 2.0 on a Solaris host. The student will learn and use basic troubleshooting and faultfinding techniques.
An Oracle 8i instance and Netcool/OMNIbus v3.6 are pre-installed on each student’s Solaris8 workstation. The student learns how to customize the Oracle instance in preparation for the installation and operation of the High Performance Oracle Gateway.
