Course description

The IBM Configuration Assistance Tool (ICAT) is used to build and manage the OMEGAMON run-time environment (RTE). You learn planning considerations for medium to large mainframe OMEGAMON installations, explore the batch load process, and examine how to upgrade an environment. You also explore SMP/E considerations and maintenance issues.


Objectives

After completing this Web seminar, students should be able to accomplish the following:

  • Plan the deployment of the z/OS-based components in a large OMEGAMON XE monitoring solution
  • Use the RTE batch process to deploy RTEs to multiple LPARs or images
  • Describe the steps to upgrade from a previous release to the current level
