In this 1-day Advanced Gateway Mediation Workshop, you will modify gateways using gateway framework rules to transform raw data into required data output files. Through hands-on exercises, you will analyze a raw data set, learn about the structure of a file, and see how gateway parser rules are used to convert files to the required file format output for loading into the applicable product system.
This workshop uses concepts learned in the Performance Manager for Wireless Gateway Fundamentals course.
|
|
After completing this workshop, you will be able to:
-
Identify and describe the structure of raw data files from common equipment.
-
Identify and describe how a gateway must be customized to convert these raw data files into the applicable output file.
-
Test the conversion of raw data files into LIF or CSV files using the most common parser rules.
|
|
The topics covered by the workshop include:
-
Analyzing the structure of an example raw data file
-
Analyzing gateway specifications and implementation using common parser rules
-
Modifying gateways using common parsing rules to transform the raw data file to final output format
|
|
|
This advanced workshop is for system administrators, business partners, and deployment professionals responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the gateway framework and gateways and for integrating with the selected performance management or service assurance system. The current gateway framework and vendor gateways are used in IBM Tivoli Netcool Service Quality Manager, IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager for Wireless, Network Performance Reporting, and Metrica Performance Manager.
|
|
Student must have completed the IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Manager for Wireless 9.1: Gateway Fundamentals course. Student must have:
-
Strong knowledge of UNIX shells
-
Strong knowledge of scripting using Perl
-
Strong knowledge of regular expressions used for pattern matching
-
Essential knowledge of OSS system integration and network boundaries
