The purpose of this workshop is to teach students to install IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) for Response Time Tracking and to enable transaction monitoring of composite applications. This will include installation of the primary IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Response Time Tracking components, the management server, management agents and Store and Forward agents. Additionally, students will enable monitoring of actual user transaction experiences.
Objectives
After completing this course, students will be able to accomplish the following:
Describe the hardware and software requirements for installing IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Response Time Tracking.
Install the IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Response Time Tracking management server.
Install management agents on Windows and UNIX.
Administer IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Response Time Tracking components, such as monitors, schedules, agent groups and reporting groups.
Deploy application monitoring using robotic scripts.
Deploy Web server monitoring.
Deploy J2EE application server monitoring.
Deploy user workstation application monitoring.
Administer monitors using the command-line interface.
