The Self-Tuning Memory Manager (STMM) works by iteratively modifying the memory configuration in small increments with the goal of improving overall system performance. STMM will be useful to the vast majority of DB2 9 users as a diagnostic tool or when dealing with new workloads with unknown memory requirements.
