Engagement Description III

XML/XML IBM® Lotus in Domino Offerings enablement

Estimated Number of On-site Days: 5

Description: Session includes developing a prototype code that automates XML export, which can be extended for use within your environment to demonstrate XML capabilities of IBM® Lotus Notes/Domino.

At the conclusion of this session, your team will have a basic understanding of the following concepts:

  • Overall understanding of XML documents and their structure
  • Use of metatags in XML documents
  • How to populate additional metadata tags based on content of source documents
  • Building a set of XML documents and ensuring they are easily rendered into human-readable format and metadata is preserved
  • Transforming DXL documents into XML documents
  • Use of document collection (or equivalent) to include multiple related documents in a single XML object

The prototype application will include the following features:

  • Automated processing transforming IBM® Lotus Notes documents into XML documents
  • Automated detachment of file attachments (using LotusScript )
