The IBM DB2® database has long remained a stalwart of the System z™ mainframe environment. Version 8
provided a new infrastructure to deliver enhanced scalability, application porting, security, and continuous availability.
The latest release of DB2 for z/OS® takes those enhancements even further. It helps customers better
manage data privacy, data security and regulatory compliance. Version 9 also optimizes for Service Oriented Architectures with pureXML capabilities that enable seamless integration of XML and relational data, and improved dynamic warehousing performance. Plans for the next version are already underway to deliver even increased performance and TCO.
