 | Communities helps people who share a common interest to collaborate by exchanging and sharing information or interacting with one another via their Web browser, IBM Lotus Sametime, and email software.
And a Community can take advantage of all the other parts of Lotus Connections in the same way that an individual user can — for example, Communities can be discovered the same way people are discovered.
And communities can have their own bookmarks (discoverable via Dogear), and a community can have its Activities.
New features in thisa release include:
- In discussion forums, members can discuss topics of interest to them.
- Integration with supported wikis means that a community member can view and edit wiki pages that have been associated with the community.
- Integration with Lotus Sametime Advanced software version allows members to chat with other members and save chat transcripts in the community's discussion forum. Users can also send a broadcast message to a community when they need a quick answer. Lotus Sametime Advanced software is licensed separately from Lotus Connections.
