IIUI Records Manager Express provides DoD 5015.2 certification with Lotus Symphony
First product certified using OpenOffice-based application
January 21, 2008, Lake Buena Vista, Florida -- Innovative Ideas Unlimited, Inc. (IIUI) is pleased to announce IIUI Records Manager Express has passed the DoD 5015.2 certification using IBM Lotus Symphony as the office productivity tools. Using the tools as built into IBM Lotus Notes 8, IIUI passed the rigorous certification test by the DoD Joint Interoperability Test Command. IBM hosted the testing at the Cambridge, Massachusetts Executive Briefing Center.
IIUI demonstrated the equivalent functionality as provided by Microsoft Office and Lotus Symphony as required for records declaration and viewing. This is the first time an OpenOffice-based application was listed on the JITC register of certified configurations. Lotus Symphony is based upon OpenOffice. Matthew Mangels, IIUI project manager for the certification says, "The Lotus Symphony office productivity tools demonstrated all of the functionality required to demonstrate both compatibility with Microsoft Office and usability for common business records."
The DoD 5015.2 certification lends additional credibility to both IIUI and IBM solutions. The testing included Lotus Notes 8 Lotus Domino 8, along with IBM Lotus Domino Document Manager as a full-featured document management system.
