Germany based software house Cedros introduces cutting edge solution for network operators at Lotusphere 2008: c.-AIS (Authority Information System)
LOTUSPHERE, ORLANDO, Fla. January 21, 2008 - Cedros today introduced a solution to support network operators to manage cost and time intensive authority requests. With the help of c.-AIS German mobile network operator E-Plus reached an automation level of 70%!
c.-AIS (Authority Information System) is based on IBM Lotus Notes and Domino and Domino Fax Integration.
Telephony Operators and Internet Service Providers are bound to supply, on request law enforcement authorities with access to customer and connection data records, as required by national law and the upcoming Data Retention Directive of the European Union. Cedros, a Premier level member of IBM PartnerWorld located in Germany, worked closely with E-Plus Mobilfunk (a major mobile operator in Germany) to understand this complex process and the resulting requirements to develop a cost effective solution to cover all parts of the Data Retention Directive of the European Union. As a result, E-Plus drastically increased the efficiency of the process and is now able to handle twice as many requests with the same human resources.
With the help of c.-AIS, E-Plus employees in charge now have access to automated processes (e.g. asynchronous data retrieval, data aggregation and report formatting) that enable them to handle more requests in less time. 70% of the requests are processed automatically by the system after input data has been qualified and the request has been approved.
IBM Lotus Domino was chosen as the application server's platform. This made it easy to deploy the application within the organisation while applying strict security policies as well as integrating additional infrastructure services including high volume fax.
The solution c.-AIS highly optimize the overall process within one single application on Lotus Domino platform. This provides a continuous workflow without any media disruptions.
c.-AIS validates the input and automatically retrieves all required information from integrated back-end systems. This also works periodically, e.g. for connection data records to be reported in future. All requested information is collected; reports are created and sent back to the requesting agency. Invoicing is handled automatically by submitting all relevant data to a billing system. While this process is highly automated, manual control is possible whenever needed.
c.-AIS drastically reduces the processing overhead and cost especially with a growing number of requests. Today E-Plus is able to handle over 40.000 inquiries a year with only 4 clerks.
