Germany based software house Cedros introduces an innovative system to protect top athletes from long-term health damage due to training strain: eAkte
LOTUSPHERE, ORLANDO, FL. January 21, 2008 - Cedros GmbH today announced completion of innovative eAkte system to protect top athletes from long-term health damage due to training strain.
The German sport University of Cologne uses eAkte inter alia for the optimal preparation of German top-athletes for the Olympic Games 2008 and 2012.
eAkte was developed using the following IBM products: IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM Lotus Forms, IBM DB2 9.1, IBM Tivoli Directory Server.
This protection is possible through long-term observation, especially as most of these athletes begin their career at a very young age.
In the past, recognition of damages was in most cases only possible after health was already effectively damaged. (e.g. through chronic diseases, deformations, erroneous trends etc.)
One reason for this was missing technology for collecting diverse data over a long period and storing it centrally as well as lack of being able to setting this data in relations to each other.
eAkte is a generic application which illustrates arbitrary structures of forms for investigation in the system.
eAkte ensures data integrity during on-line and off-line collection. In this way, data of different investigations, structures and creation time areas can be evaluated comprehensively.
New forms for investigation can be entered by the users (physicians and coaches).
eAkte facilitates an overall view on top-athletes and enables evaluation of effects of training measures over a long period. This way early recognition of health endangerment is possible and counteractions can be taken in time.
Over the last 15 years Cedros has become a well established German all-round supplier of complex IT solutions for banks, insurance companies and mobile network operators. Currently 45 IT-Professionals are developing state of the art software.
