Avistar Offers a "Window of Opportunity" for Resellers of its Desktop Videoconference Solution for IBM Lotus Sametime
Avistar VARs Generate Revenue in as Few as Two Months with Hosted or Onsite Videoconference Solution Scaleable to Thousands of Users
LOTUSPHERE, ORLANDO, FL. January 21, 2008 - Avistar Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: AVSR) is offering special incentives to motivate IBM Lotus Sametime resellers to add Avistar desktop videoconferencing to their product lines. Avistar is the only desktop videoconference solution available for any unified communications platform that can be deployed for thousands of simultaneous users while maintaining agreed quality and reliability service levels. With Avistar's hosted desktop videoconference option, resellers can have a pilot project up and running in just a few days and new profitable revenue within four to eight weeks.
"Avistar instantly enables enterprise-wide desktop videoconferencing integrated within Lotus Sametime," said Darren Innes, Avistar's general manager for worldwide direct and channel sales. "This is a great window of opportunity for Lotus Sametime VARs to join with Avistar to easily add additional revenue to new or existing installations, as well as dramatically differentiate their offerings. Avistar is the only desktop videoconferencing solution that offers the opportunity for rapid revenue stream via our hosted solution, which provides desktop video through software as a service delivery."
"The ability to support desktop videoconferencing deployments including thousands of users is a key differentiator for Avistar," said Ira Weinstein, senior analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research, a market research and analyst firm specializing in the field of unified communications. "Avistar's integration with Lotus Sametime and the release of its Hosted, or software as a service solution, allows both large and small enterprises to video-enable their user community."
Lotus Sametime resellers who sign up with Avistar by February 29 will receive an additional ten percent off of all Avistar products for a six-month period, without limitation. The discount is good on all hardware, software and hosted solution purchases for first six-months of their agreement. VARs also must enter into a co-marketing arrangement with Avistar to introduce desktop videoconferencing to their installed base of Lotus Sametime users. In addition to the product discount, Avistar will provide new Lotus Sametime VARs with 25 seats of its software for internal use and demonstration purposes, as well as training for VAR sales people. VARs should contact Keith Altman, vice president of channel sales at Avistar for complete details (kaltman-at-avistar.com or 212-949-1132).
Avistar's Channel Partner Program covers customer-premise and Hosted products, and is focused on VARs that deliver unified communications solutions to the Global Fortune 5000 market. These comprise meeting room VARs seeking to extend video to the desktop, PBX and VoIP VARs keen to maximize the value proposition of moving voice onto corporate IP networks, and an emerging breed of unified communications VARs looking to extend the capabilities of systems such as IBM Lotus Sametime to include managed videoconferencing at the desktop.
