Instant Queue Manager provides the equivalent of a telephone helpdesk within the Instant Messaging environment of IBM Lotus Sametime® software. Queue Manager takes customer queries and stores them in a Lotus Domino® database, where they can be acted upon or moved automatically via a Lotus Domino® Agent into another system such as Remedy, Act, PeopleSoft or SAP application. Furthermore, the IBM Lotus Sametime ® 7.5 plug-in architecture allows chat sessions with multiple customers at a time, canned responses, and common answers. Instant Technologies utilized the IBM Lotus Sametime® Toolkits along with the IBM Lotus Sametime® 7.5 plug-in architecture and IBM Lotus Domino® to build this application.

Universal Underwriters Group (UUG) engaged the PSC Group to create a Sales Scoreboard Portal. UUG needed a more proactive, 360-degree view of their customer, focusing primarily on sales data. With information spread across 10 disparate policy systems, PSC applied the IBM SOA model and leveraged IBM WebSphere® Portal software to aggregate all information into a single location, using SOA development techniques, web services, and portlets to surface data and workflow from IBM WebSphere® Application Servers, legacy systems, and DB2® data repositories. This new system significantly reduced the turnaround time and manual tasks in data collection, compilation, and analysis, yielding a $3 million (USD) revenue increase for UGG within the first 6 months of operation. Leveraging IBM WebSphere® Portal, portlet technology, and web services, PSC executed the classic "first major application of SOA concepts".
