WebSphere® Business Integration Adapter for TCP/IP V1.0 enables real-time, bidirectional integration between TCP/IP-based applications and WebSphere brokers and servers via TCP/IP sockets. This adapter is broadly applicable, but can be of particular use to clients in the healthcare industry. It supports synchronous and asynchronous modes for request processing and event notification and also supports verb operations in event notification.
The WebSphere Business Integration Adapter for TCP/IP supports multiple layers of message formats. It also supports preprocessing and postprocessing, such as stripping enveloping characters from inbound messages and adding them back to outbound messages. Furthermore, the adapter adds flexibility for customization by providing support for data handlers. It can handle different formatting needs at the application message layer and at the message transport layer. A single run-time instance of the adapter supports client connectivity to multiple applications as well as server connectivity from multiple applications. The adapter supports IPv4 and is enabled for double-byte character set (DBCS).
