BURT: Hello, and thank you for your interest in Integro e-mail Manager. My name is Scott Burt. We're going to take the next few minutes to briefly introduce you to this exciting product and how we can help you solve many challenges that companies face today.
The challenges are many. There's truly a perfect storm out there. The explosion of the volumes of e-mail and the combination of needs for litigation support, for discovering those e-mails for legal cases, also regulatory compliance and IT storage and management costs.
With all these combination of factors, the explosion of the volumes, the need to discover and turn this stuff over for legal cases, and also for compliance with regulatory needs, has become a very onerous challenge and one that must be addressed by every corporation in America today.
The escalation of importance of e-mail due to these regulatory and legal drivers has forced companies now to absolutely keep what should be kept but also it drives the need to dispose of e-mails when appropriate.
The challenging question is, how? How do you figure out which e-mails need to be kept and which e-mails need to be disposed of? And the ones that you keep, for how long do you keep them? Some challenges that we're helping companies solve every day.
Integro e-mail Manager -- we fondly call it IEM for short -- is an enhancement to Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes, and it integrates with IBM's Enterprise Content Management portfolio of products forming a complete solution for you, for your e-mail archives and e-mail management and records management.
It facilitates records management of e-mail using a zone management metaphor, which is becoming very common and popular in today's business world. The zone management approach will be described a bit more momentarily, because it makes a lot of sense for how companies want to manage the content in their enterprise including e-mail.
It is easy for end users, providing them simple drag and drop, one-click drag and drop for their e-mail classification. And if you have a records management file plan, IEM provides an easy way to extend this to your users.
If you don't have one, Integro can help you define simple rules or even help you create a full file plan. This is called the records classification and retention schedule.
This is a little description here of Integro e-mail Manager. It is some unique capabilities, the only solution on the market that provides easy zone management, which is now being sought by so many of these mature companies.
The most complete solutions that combines ease of use with the features that records managers demand. It also enables huge savings of e-discovery by reducing the volume of e-mail that your lawyers and outside counsel are searching through in those trying court cases.
The technology architecture is, again, it's an enhancement that lives within...I should say Outlook or Lotus Notes. It integrates with IBM Enterprise Content Management products. And we have three versions. We have IEM Light, IEM Basic and IEM complete.
Very basically, the IEM Light provides some basic end user enhancements and functionality for an archiving and management approach. And the complete product does full integration with a records management product in incorporating your file plan into your e-mail management strategies.
If you look at the universe of e-mail at any average corporation, the vast majority -- estimated to be about 80 percent of e-mails -- are transitory documents and they do not need to be kept.
You do not need to archive these. You do not need to manage them. And very importantly, if you have a court case someday and you need to do discovery, you do not need to have these around and need to be searching through these volumes of e-mail.
Again, it's estimated about 80 percent of these e-mails are transitory and with Integro e-mail Manager, that's called the auto delete zone, and they will be automatically removed. There's no action required by the end user whatsoever.
If it's in their inbox, or a different areas that in rules that are defined in the inbox, it's automatically removed based upon rules defined by the corporation.
The next zone is the working zone. The working zone is where employees need to have useful amount of storage space to store information that is relevant to their day-to-day job.
And this is estimated to be 15 to 20 percent of the e-mails that are today stored by corporations and processed on a daily fashion by corporations. This gives the end users the tools and capabilities to be productive in their jobs without getting in the way.
And you can see the small slice of that pie is what are actually corporate records. These are e-mails that have corporate records value whether it is because of a regulatory compliance or for whatever reason, this maps to your corporate file plan, and these documents should be retained for an appropriate amount of time defined by your corporate file plan or records management...records and retention schedule.
It can also, if you don't do records management fully yet, you can map some more simple rules to it and keep different kinds of documents varying lengths of time and have them auto disposed of later.
