Title: MQ Series for TPF 4.1
Overview:
Message Queuing Series (MQSeries) is a set of IBM program products which allow
messages on disparate physical and logical processing platforms to share
messages using an application programming interface (API).
Transation Processing Facility 4.1 (TPF 4.1) supports the basic MQ API (MQI)
and allows access to queues on the TPF 4.1 system as well as on other systems.
TPF 4.1 is unique in some of its support and this two day class addresses
TPF 4.1's implementation of MQ support.
Audience:
TPF 4.1 programmers needing an understanding of MQ and MQ programmers needing
an understanding of TPF 4.1’s implementation of MQ.
Educational Objectives:
- Enable students to incorporate TPF 4.1 into an MQ environment.
- Enable students to analyse and diagnose MQ data flows to, from and within
TPF 4.1.
Topics:
- Introduction and Overview
- Definition of Terms

Prerequisites:
Class attendees from either audience should have some understanding of
application designs or operating system and network design concepts. Operating
system and network design knowledge obtained from working with operating
systems other than TPF 4.1 or networks other than TCP/IP is acceptable.
Some understanding of C-language is required as a basis for learning about
the MQI.
