 The CICSPlex SM Quick Tour is a tutorial program aimed at providing a technical introduction to the key facilities and functions that CICSPlex SM provides as part of CICS® Transaction Server for z/OS™ V3 This quick tour is an update to the previous CICS TS V2 level of the CICSPlex SM quicktour with new screen shots from the enhanced Web User Interface (WUI) featuring functions not previously available in prior versions of CICS. The tutorial covers the following areas: - Business Needs - a brief introduction to the problems that CICSPlex SM can help to solve
- Components - a technical introduction to CICS System Management and an explanation of how it is implemented and maybe exploited within CICS
- CICSPlex SM Structure - a lesson on how a sysplex can expand and how CICSPlex SM can help management and diagnosis of the sysplex from a single point of control.
- Web User Interface - a series of screen shots showing the Web User Interface (WUI) highlighting a problem and its solution.
With the exception of the Business Needs section, the material is delivered is of intermediate to advanced technical level. Technical experience with CICS is a prerequisite. The tutorial is provided as a stand-alone Windows application (an .exe file). Please download the file, save in your chosen location and launch from your local computer. |
