Part 3 in this 3 part series of Rich Media Presentations is a comparison of CICS Transaction Server for z/OS and TXSeries for Multiplatforms V5.1. TXSeries is designed for running mission critical applications, but there are important differences between TXSeries and CICS Transaction Server on mainframe systems.

This presentation compares and contrasts the functionality between TXSeries for Multiplatforms V5.1 and CICS Transaction Server V2.3. It shows that TXSeries is both more and less than mainframe CICS, and goes into some detail about the supplied API?s, CICS Transactions, CICS Intersystem Communication, security, and more.

It shows that IBM provides products with a balance of the qualities of service, and cost of ownership to meet your requirements.
