CICS Transaction Gateway for Multiplatforms provides standards-based connectivity to CICS applications.  It offers your WebSphere products secure and scalable access to CICS Transaction Server and TXSeries for Multiplatforms. - CICS Transaction Gateway for Multiplatforms provides flexible connectivity to CICS Transaction Server and TXSeries® for Multiplatforms. It requires minimal or no changes to CICS systems and usually no changes to existing CICS applications.
- With CICS Transaction Gateway for Multiplatforms you can use your CICS® container, COMMAREA, and 3270-terminal based applications in comprehensive and sophisticated Java and Web services solutions hosted on powerful application servers such as WebSphere Application Server.
- CICS Transaction Gateway is a J2EE™ connector. It supports the standard JCA 1.5 specification and includes programming interfaces in Java, C, C++, COM and COBOL for flexible and fast application development.
- Remote communication can be either IP-based or SNA-based for flexible deployment.
- CICS Transaction Gateway for Multiplatforms includes support TLS, SSL and IPv6 connections, a wide range of SNA support and enhancements to optimize transmission response times.
- CICS TG for Multiplatforms V7.1 offers a number of new enhancements. It provides extended CICS integration support, exploiting the new IP Interconnectivity (IPIC) for DPL provided in CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V3.2 providing access to CICS container based applications. CICS TG V7.1 also offers extensions to its systems monitoring capabilities, including new system metrics for capacity planning, an interval statistics mechanism, integration with CICS Performance Analyzer for z/OS (CICS PA), a transaction monitoring infrastructure, and advanced workload monitoring through the support of Extended Workload Management (EWLM). It also provides new deployment options for XA support, to enable two-phase commit from J2EE applications in WebSphere Application server directly into CICS TS V3.2 , as well as new deployment options for SSL support, to enable Java clients to use an encrypted connection directly into CICS TS V3.2.
