 | Many organizations are adapting to today's global economy. With the new telecommuting workforce model, companies have remote employees working worldwide that keep in contact with their colleagues with Sametime-enabled community. In this global collaboration community, there is a growing interest to conduct multilingual chat, break language barriers and collaborate across borders. To satisfy these requirements, you can take advantage of Sametime’s real-time communication infrastructure and create your own Sametime service for translation. This solution permits programmer enable and control translation services easily, similar to using other existing Sametime service, regardless of where the translation server is located and how to integrate with it.
This topic describes the Sametime Community server architecture and introduces the concepts behind developing Sametime translation services. There is also a focus on applying these concepts to plan, design and implement a Sametime translation service, with some examples to demonstrate the flexibility and extensibility of this solution from implementation and infrastructure points of view.
