 | Media formats and data types A wide range of media formats and data types supports home Internet users as well as higher quality streaming for intranet users. Standards based formats are supported and encouraged. This support includes: - Video Files (AVI) -- supported on the VideoCharger™ Player.
- Audio Files (.WAV) -- supported on the VideoCharger Player.
- IBM® HotMedia® (.MVR) files play -- on Apple and Windows® platforms -- without client installation. The small player is automatically downloaded from the VideoCharger Server before play.
- Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG1) - supported on VideoCharger Player.
VideoCharger, when used in conjunction with EMMS, can stream MPEG to a native Windows media player. - MPEG 2 and MP3 - DirectX multimedia hardware/software decoders required
- MPEG4 - a downloaded transparent Java MPEG-4 client player applet is supported in the VideoCharger feature of Content Manager for Multiplatforms Version 8
Proprietary formats such as Apple QuickTime Version (.MOV) are supported when licensed. - VideoCharger can stream the (.MOV) format if it is "hinted" prior to being stored on the VideoCharger server.
- It is supported on the Apple QuickTimePlayer (Version 4 and Version 5) on the Windows and Apple platforms.
