IBM U2 SB+ for UniData and UniVerse is available in a Personal Edition and a production version. Prior to Version 5.4, SB+ was offered in different editions to match the market and business needs of our customers. IBM SB+ had been available in a Runtime and Developer license with the Developer license following the U2 data server edition classification. Those Editions cease to be required at Version 5.4 and have been combined with the Runtime license in a single product. Personal Edition
Starting at Release 5.4, a Personal Edition is available as a free, downloadable program for use with the Personal Editions of the U2 data servers. There are no maintenance offerings for the Personal Edition. This edition is designed for single-user personal development and training as well as sales demos. It is not for remarketing or use in production environments. Workgroup Edition (Developer Licenses prior to V5.4)
Workgroup Edition provides for 1 to 24 concurrent users on Intel x86 servers with 1-2 processors running 32-bit Microsoft Windows Servers, RedHat Linux, or SCO as the operating system. Workgroup Edition supports device licensing, which allows multiple connections from SBClient while consuming a single SB+ license and a single data server license. This edition is designed to serve the needs of small sites at a very competitive price point. Server Edition (Developer Licenses prior to V5.4)
Server Edition offers the SB+ licenses on an a-la-carte basis providing a more customizable solution for sites where limited use is made of API and middleware programs. Each connection from a Windows client, including SBClient, will consume a SB+ license as well as a data server license. Server Edition provides for one or more concurrent sessions on any available platform with any number of processors. Server Edition does not support device licensing. Enterprise Edition (Developer Licenses prior to V5.4)
An enterprise license serves large installations that make significant use of connectivity options via APIs and middleware. An enterprise license offers device licensing and is available on any supported platform or operating system at the supported release level. Enterprise Edition is available for one or more concurrent users on any available platform with any number of processors. |
