 | Try out IBM® Data Studio features and see how they can make you more productive with your data. Make Data Studio the cornerstone of your data access development and health monitoring needs and benefit with improved collaboration between data architects, developers, and database administrators. Use Data Studio to: - Design data access queries and modules with full knowledge of data distribution and entity-relationship (ER) diagramming support. Comprehensive enterprise data modeling is provided with IBM Rational Data Architect v7 (which currently can be used in combination with IBM Data Studio).
- Develop data-driven applications faster with drag and drop query builders, and comprehensive SQL and XQuery editors with interactive feedback. Build, test, deploy, and optimize SQL or Java stored procedures to improve application performance and availability. Deliver data directly into new or existing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) or Web 2.0 solutions with drag and drop Web services creation from any SQL, XQuery, or stored procedure. Bridge the divide between Java applications and relational database servers using pureQuery, a Java data access platform for higher productivity and faster data access.
- Manage database objects (both relational and XML data). Database object creation and modification tasks are easy to accomplish. Improve query performance using Visual Explain and statistics gathering utilities (runstats).
- Monitor your data servers from any Web browser. You can monitor the health and availability of databases, view dashboard metrics, investigate alert details, and troubleshoot problems using expert recommendations. You can also monitor Q replication and event publishing, generate replication health reports, and perform basic replication operations.
IBM Data Studio currently supports developing code for IBM DB2 and Informix Dynamic Servers (IDS), more specifically: - DB2 for Linux, Unix, Windows v8.x, v9.1.x, v9.5
- DB2 for z/OS v7, v8, v9
- DB2 for i5/OS v5r2, v5r3, v5r4
- Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) v9.x, v10.x, v11
- The IBM Data Studio Administration Console Technology Preview has graduated to a generally available status. It is now officially part of the Data Studio features available for download. The server supports health monitoring for DB2 for Linux, Unix, Windows v9.5 and monitoring of WebSphere® Replication Server and WebSphere Data Event Publisher 8.2 and higher which runs on:
- DB2 Version 9.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows or later
- DB2 Universal Database Version 8.2
- DB2 Universal Database for z/OS and OS/390 Version 7.1 or later
