Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms

Information Management software
Components

The Report Distribution optional feature allows users to distribute and share reports by e-mail. Report Distribution automatically groups reports and portions of related reports together, organizes them, and creates the bundles that can be sent through e-mail to multiple users or sent to the customers print environment for printing.

A report is a document or a set of documents that is retrieved from Content Manager OnDemand to be delivered to one or more users. It has three main steps:

  • Report extraction retrieves reports based upon user-supplied parameters which are defined in a report-type query
  • Bundle creation organizes the reports. The bundle allows separators between each report, a header banner and a trailer banner.
  • Distribution delivery delivers identified and organized reports to selected recipients. Report Distribution runs in the background and is time-activated. Delivery options can be chosen from a fixed date or may be load-driven.
    • When an active distribution is scheduled for a fixed time and day, Report Distribution retrieves the reports from Content Manager OnDemand and distributes the bundle.
    • When an active distribution is set for a date and load schedule, Report Distribution checks the timestamp of the last distribution, and if the timestamp differs, the distribution occurs. Otherwise, it skips the distribution until the reports are different.
