As part of the IP&S Unified Process Implementation Methodology, a series of Quality Assurance Reviews are executed during the implementation. Independent review teams are brought in to improve quality, value, and success by revisiting and validating client expectations, and ensuring proper planning is in place to meet those expectations.
Quality Assurance Programs are comprised of two categories:
Program Quality Assurance (PQA)
An overall health check on the project management elements that are necessary to implement a solution. The review is conducted by another SIM towards the end of the inception phase and/or elaboration phase of a project.
Solution Quality Assurance (SQA)
An assessment of the technical aspects of the solution that looks to ensure project delivery is conducted in a low risk / high value manner. The review is conducted by a technical expert towards the end of the elaboration phase of a project.
These assessments ensure:
- Customer expectations and end-user requirements are well understood and properly met
- Overall solution design is in alignment with business objectives
- Solution scope is supported by product capabilities
- Adherence to IBM standard practices and project methodologies
- Scope is properly managed
