Partnering with Verizon
Verizon, a leading provider of communications services, has made the call to IBM’s Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) 11.
Verizon has seen a number of business benefits since the company migrated from Sybase to the IDS data server. IDS provides Verizon with a flexible, resilient and reliable IT infrastructure that helps to keep customer service levels high. IDS also allows for increased speed, availability and scalability in Verizon’s business processes. With IDS, Verizon has cut processes that once took eight hours down to just 10 minutes.
“Having a reliable data server is essential if we’re to meet business needs,” said Geoff Poole, lead Informix database administrator, Verizon. “IDS is a core solution that helps us maintain 99.98 percent availability. We push it quite a bit because it is a very stable environment and it can handle massive loads very efficiently.”
Verizon is one of a growing number of companies profiting from IBM technology innovations.
