Nomad Payments has recently upgraded its Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) in order to sustain high service levels for a growing customer base. In addition, Nomad’s goal was to increase transaction processing performance and boost the resilience of its IT infrastructure.
Nomad Payments, an Independent Software Vendor, specializes in the management and processing of prepaid debit cards, a growing market in Europe. By working with Bell Micro, an IBM Premier Business Partner, the company has been able to use IDS to increase transactional performance five-fold.
"This new solution from IBM e-business Hosting Services and Bell Micro can handle up to 53 transactions per second, making it nearly five times faster than our previous infrastructure,” said Clive Taylor, head of operations for Nomad Payments. “This increased performance, combined with the scalability of Informix and the expandable System P architecture will help us meet the needs of our customers both now and in the future."
While Nomad has been using the Informix database platform for years, the company’s recent upgrade to IDS 10 has provided them with highly localized backup and restored functionality.
