IBM Gold Program

IBM Gold Program offerings give you the flexibility of installing either Informix or DB2 products in whatever combination is required to meet your business needs. Now you can purchase licenses to cover your entire business need -- even if the exact mix of Informix and DB2 database licenses is undetermined or will change over time.

This program provides the flexibility of transitioning to a different database -- with no additional charge -- and IBM does not need to be notified. After the initial license purchase, the only incremental charges are for the standard annual maintenance renewal and any optional media or documentation.

In addition, this program provides flexible licensing terms for the Gold Program offerings. If you wish to transition from a licensed copy of Informix Extended Parallel Server/Informix Dynamic Server/IBM Red Brick Warehouse to the licensed set of corresponding DB2 products, you may now install and operate both sets of products to facilitate such a transition for a single period of 180 days.

The IBM Gold Program is available through IBM Passport Advantage only with unique license terms and conditions. Through the IBM Gold Program, existing Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) customers can purchase Gold Transaction Processing bundles through the following trade-up options:

• IDS 7 to Gold Transaction Processing bundle plus 1 anniversary of software maintenance
• IDS 9 to Gold Transaction Processing bundle plus 1 anniversary of software maintenance
• IDS 7.x Workgroup Edition Unlimited to IDS 9.x Workgroup Edition Unlimited
• IDS 7.x and 9.x Workgroup Edition Unlimited to Gold Transaction Processing Bundle for SMB Unlimited

To qualify for these trade-up options, customers must have current/active software maintenance on IDS. These trade-ups are available through IBM Passport Advantage, and they can be ordered through IBM directly or the customer's Passport Advantage authorized partner of choice.
