Information Management software
Description

IBM Finance Foundation for Capital Markets enables you to load, store and analyze market data in real-time.

Real-time Analysis
Using the TimeSeries real-time loader, IBM customers now have the ability to load and analyze large amounts of time stamped data. In an internal benchmark, TimeSeries real-time loader was able to load 60,000 tics per second while simultaneously performing ad-hoc queries with a 0.10 second lag time.

Optimal Data Storage
Customers can efficiently store time-stamped data using the TimeSeries DataBlade. The amount of disk savings using the TimeSeries DataBlade instead of a relational database is 50% or more.

Efficient Retrieval of Data
The TimeSeries DataBlade allows Informix customers to retrieve time-series data efficiently. Data is stored contiguously in the database, the order in which the data is most often used, instead of being stored randomly across the disk as is typical for a relational database. Because the data is stored contiguously, it can be retrieved with fewer disk I/Os per query. The TimeSeries DataBlade also performs a read ahead while loading data, making the next range of data available more quickly. The benefit to the customer is that data access time is minimized, so loading data takes less time.

Flexibility
Informix Dynamic Server, the database server at the core of the Finance Foundation solution, allows customers to connect to the database via an ODBC or JDBC connection.

IBM Financial Foundation for Capital Markets runs on AIX, Linux, HP-UX and Solaris.
