IMS Database Control Suite for z/OS

Overview

IBM IMS Database Control Suite serves as the focal point for all database maintenance operations. On-demand space monitoring helps you obtain timely information and avoid "out of space" conditions. Automated functions and task-oriented design work increase overall productivity. It brings together IMS database tools and utilities into an integrated suite that contains all the functions necessary to centrally maintain and manage the IMS databases.

With Version 3.2, there are significant changes for DBDSGRPs which include: loading preexisting DBDSGRPs into IMS DBCS from the RECON; using your naming conventions rather than generated names; and creating DBDSGRPs with a mix of HALDB and full-function databases.

Enables you to collect and build on the data required to generate job control language (JCL)for database backup/recovery/reorganization management using IMS Base Utilities and IBM High Performance Tools.
Includes a simplified user interface; reduction and consolidation of the number of datasets,ISPF panels and process steps; and more flexibility for local standards.
Automates tedious manual IMS maintenance functions to make database management easier.
