IMS TM Resource Adapter Version 9.1.0.2

Version 9.1.0.2 is based on J2EE Connector Architecture Version 1.5. Two versions of V9.1.0.2 are being maintained for Rational Application Developer Version 7 and Version 6 respectively.

This page lists the changes in the latest updates. For a cumulatiave list of new features and updates for each version, see the following documents:

This information can also be found in the README.html file for each version on the IMS TM resource adapter downloads page.

Version 9.1.0.2.5 - New Feature

IMS TM Resource Adapter Version 9.1.0.2.5 contains the following enhancement:

  • IMS MFS SOA support
IMS TM Resource Adapter Version 9.1.0.2.5 includes the new IMS MFS SOA support, which enables you to use MFS J2C-based services as well as MFS Web Service for the tooling in Rational Application Server Version 7.5.

Note: The new feature is supported on TCP/IP connections only.

Version 9.1.0.2.5 - Maintenance updates for Rational Application Developer Version 7

IMS TM Resource Adapter Version 9.1.0.2.5a contains the following updates:

  • A security violation might occur in IMS Connect when WebSphere Application Server V6.0 tries to do a transaction recovery during startup:

    HWSP1503E SECURITY VIOLATION, NO RACROUTE CALL; R=240, C=HWS45Y3P, M=SDRC

The problem only happens during transaction recovery if RACF security authorization checking is turned on in IMS Connect (RACF= Y).

This update ensures that IMS TM Resource Adapter passes the security information from WebSphere Application Server to IMS Connect for transaction recovery calls during WebSphere Application Server startup.

  • An error occurs during a lazy enlistment call when multiple ConnectionManager instances are created and used for the same connection factory:

J2CA0292E: The ManagedConnection from resource eis/JNDINamexxx could not be enlisted with the current transaction

This update ensures that multiple ConnectionManager instances for the same managed connection factory are supported during lazy enlistment.

  • The ccf2.jar's manifest.mf file has an incorrect entry. The first line exceeds 72 characters. The ccf2.jar's manifest.mf file has been updated.

  • A NullPointerException occurred in the IMSManagedConnection.call method when the method makes a lazy enlistment call during the transaction execution from a WebLogic envionment. The exception stack is:

    java.lang.NullPointerException at
    com.ibm.connector2.ims.ico.IMSManagedConnection.call (IMSManagedConnection.java:639) at
    com.ibm.connector2.ims.ico.IMSConnection.call (IMSConnection.java:215) at com.ibm.connector2.ims.ico.IMSInteraction.execute (IMSInteraction.java:498)

The NullPointerException is fixed by supporting multiple ConnectionManager instances during lazy enlistment when an IMS transaction is called from a WebLogic environment.

  • Errors occur during the deployment of the IMS TM Resource Adapter RAR file in a WebLogic environment.

This update fixes the IMSResourceAdapter to implement java.io.Serializable and deprecates the TransactionResourceRegistration, MFSXMIRepositoryID and MFSXMIRepositoryURI properties.

For Version 9, the workaround is to comment out or remove the TransactionResourceRegistration, MFSXMIRepositoryID and MFSXMIRepositoryURI elements from weblogic-ra.xml before you deploy the IMS TM Resource Adapter RAR

Version 9.1.0.2.2 - Maintenance updates for Rational Application Developer Version 6

IMS TM Resource Adapter Version 9.1.0.2.2d contains the same four updates that are in V9.1.0.2.5a as described in the section above.

Note: This maintenance-only version does not include new functions added to the other version for Rational Application Developer Version 7. See Version 9.1.0.2 for Rational Application Developer V6 - List of updates for details
