 | - Are you working to comply with legislation covering data security and privacy?
- Do you have responsibility for protecting your company's most sensitive data?
- Are you investigating how to add an extra level of security and protection?
IBM Data Encryption for IMS and DB2 Databases provides you with a tool for both IMS and DB2 in a single product. The tool enables you to leverage the power of Storage Area Networks (SANs) safely while complying with privacy and security regulations in place or being enacted worldwide. During encryption, IMS or DB2 application data is converted to database data that is unintelligible except to the person authorized by your security administrator. Sensitive data is protected at the row level for DB2 and the segment level for IMS. Encryption and decryption can be customized at these levels on the respective databases. The tool is implemented using standard DB2 and IMS exits. It exploits z/Series and S/390 Crypto Hardware features, resulting in low overhead encryption/decryption. If you make decisions about protecting sensitive data to keep your company on the right track to compliance, examine how IBM Data Encryption for IMS and DB2 Databases can help. This tool is part of IBM's suite of regulatory compliance tools. - Provides user-customizable, pre-coded exits for encryption of IMS and DB2 data.
- Exploits zSeries and S/390 Crypto Hardware features, which results in low overhead encryption/decryption.
- Data is protected using encryption algorithms approved by the U.S. National Institute of Science and Technology
- Customizable at the IMS segment level and at the row level for DB2.
- Conforms to the existing z/OS security model and is implemented using standard IMS and DB2 exits.
