 Archive data and documents defined in the SAP ArchiveLink specification CommonStore has been certified by SAP AG as a complementary software product to provide archive management for all types of data and documents defined in the SAP ArchiveLink® specification: - Reorganization data to clean up "old" data (SAP database objects) from the operational database and to keep data for later audits or legal examinations.
- Incoming documents, mainly noncoded information (paper documents) such as incoming bills, letters, and faxes, which must be electronically stored (for example, by scanning) and filed in a central archive for further processing. Workflow components can then route these documents to users automatically within a predefined work process.
- Outgoing documents created with SAP R/3, such as invoices and bills, for direct reference from SAP applications or for filing.
- Print lists output from R/3 reports (for example, account statements, inventories, and balance sheets) for later evaluation or reference.
- External files (user data) generated on PCs using applications, such as local spreadsheet or graphics programs. R/3 document management provides general access to this information through archiving.
CommonStore follows the latest SAP ArchiveLink Protocols. CommonStore is certified with SAP ArchiveLink Protocol 0031 and 0045 which are utilized by SAP 3.x, 4.x, and 6.xx systems, including the SAP ArchiveLink HTTP interface, the SAP ArchiveLink RFC interface and the client OLE communication. CommonStore for SAP V8.2 is also certified for SAP Cache Server. It - supports the SAP Cache Server strategy for distributed locations to optimize system performance.
