Utilities and tools
The following tools and utilities may be helpful to application developers using REXX. Included are links to some IBM resources as well as non-IBM resources:
REXX and RexxXML pages, by Patrick McPhee, now provide function libraries with interfaces to XML, regular expressions, mathematical routines, and operating system functions.
LesTecML Mailer Email Client, by Les Moull, with a full REXX interface, Modular And Integrated Design Visual REXX GUI Front-End and the LestecIO REXX I/O Library, version 2.1, is available.
REXXTAGS REXX Server Pages Compiler, Version 1.1, by José María Blasco, now includes an optional cache (specifically designed for large files or files with many tags) and supports importing REXX source code.
REXX and NetRexx site, by Sat Srivastava, including the NetRexxJe Plugin for jEdit, is now at version 0.09. It has been modified to use the SideKick plugin and works with prefinal version of jedit.
Classic REXX to NetRexx converter, by Thomas Schneider, lets you run REXX programs in a Java environment.
REXX Function Package for OpenEdition MVS, by Bill Schoen, is available by searching for "rexxfunc".
Object-Oriented REXX Language Interpreter, from Kilowatt Software, has been enhanced with regular expression classes, a Java interface, and educational examples.
The RexxCPS benchmark measures the speed of a REXX implementation on a particular computer and operating system.
