 | Required Software To use the HLASM books, on a Bookshelf, on VM or z/OS, you must have installed either BookManager READ/VM or BookManager READ/MVS, as appropriate, on your host. Refer to the BookManager documentation for information on installing and customizing these products. Transfer the books and index to your host via your workstation Download the books and book index from the web to your workstation. Download the books with extension .boo, and the index with extension .bki. Upload the books and index to your VM or z/OS host. The books and index must be uploaded with:
transfer type: BINARY record format: FIXED logical record length: 4096
Note: It is not necessary to transfer the bookshelf from the web to your host; in fact you may find it easier to create the bookshelf, if you do not try to use the bookshelf from the web, but use the BookManager product on your host to create it.
