IBM® COBOL for AIX® is a powerful development environment for building COBOL applications

It includes a COBOL compiler, a COBOL library and a distributed debugger for the AIX operating system.

• Offers the COBOL functions that you need to integrate COBOL applications with Web-oriented business processes, including an enhanced level of the distributed debugger
• Provides Java™ interoperability, support for Extensible Markup Language (XML), DB2® Universal Database™ V8, Unicode and enhanced 31-digit decimal data
• Delivers improved performance for Encina® structured file server (SFS) files
• Version 2 includes new features that enable you to upgrade your existing COBOL applications with the newest technologies
• COBOL for AIX runs on AIX Version 5.1, or later.
