Several deviations from the APL2 Language Reference's language definition have been removed. Workstation APL2 is now compatible with mainframe APL2 in justification of character data in display of nested arrays, prototype extension for disclose, expand, replicate and take, partition results with null arguments, and depth of formatted nested arrays. Support is added to Processor 11 for searching more than one names file for an external routine's descriptor.
Unix Systems:
The AP 207 GRDATA command is implemented for AIX, Linux and Solaris, with the same syntax and functionality as the current GRDATA command on Windows. GRDATA allows the contents of the screen is to be saved and loaded using 14 different graphics formats, including JPEG, GIF and BMP.
Windows:
The APL2 Library Manager is enhanced with support for files with non-standard extensions and two new customization options allowing control over the name sorting algorithm and inclusion of timestamps when comparing functions and operators. The Object Editor recognizes and opens URLs in comments, and has a new option Always on Top. The COM external routine supports output parameters. Unicode support in AP 145 is enhanced with support for Unicode data in menus, status areas and tab controls, the addition of Unicode versions of the FILEDLG, FOLDERDLG and POPUPMENU functions, and extension of the UNIMSGBOX function to support styles. Other extensions to AP 145 include support for drag and drop of files, the 'Hover' event, editing of Listview labels, pictures on menu items and specification of argument and result types to LOADAPI.
Service Level 9 is available through the Support option at the APL2 home page to customers with a Software Maintenance contract.
